Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Library was organized in 1967 to serve as a link between the library and the community. The Friends enhance the services the library provides to the public by underwriting special children’s programs, sponsoring our circulating museum passes, our subscription to Wowbrary and our subscription to BookPage, among other projects. Membership dues provide much of the treasury, but the annual book and jewelry sale is an important fundraiser.

Many members help out at the sales by sorting and selling items. The Friends also maintain an ongoing sale of donated used paperbacks and magazines in the lobby of the library.

The Friends are an independent, tax-exempt organization dedicated to assisting the library and welcomes new members all year long. Memberships start at $10. All our fund raising efforts go toward helping support the library’s multitude of special programs and augmenting its limited budget for materials for children and adults.
