(Really Good!) Book Discussion Group

Springfield Free Public Library is looking to revive its (Really Good) Discussion Group after two years' hiatus! We're currently polling our readers for titles to be read in 2022: email your choice to Adult Services Librarian Ian Allcock (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). We recommend that requests be easily available in paper/ebook form and under 350 pages. Classics, modern fiction, and nonfiction are all welcome! Prospective titles thus far include Hamnet by Maggie O'Farrell, The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles, and Stoner by John Williams.

The (Really Good) Discussion Group usually meets one Thursday evening a month at 7PM.

Great Books Discussion Group meets on the third Thursday morning of the month usually at 10AM in the Meeting Room. The group discusses works of literature that have been synopsized by the Great Books Foundation. A book containing the synopsized versions is available for purchase at the Circulation Desk.

Dates TBD

Next Chapter Book Club meets the second and fourth Tuesday of the month. It is a book club for adults with developmental disabilities. Participation is free and open both to residents of Springfield as well as to people who reside in other communities. People interested in participating will need to come to the library in advance of the first meeting in order to preregister.
