The Springfield Free Public Library and the Alzheimer's Association Greater New Jersey Chapter are pleased to partner in presenting a new monthly program, "Keeping it Sharp: Discussion & More for Older Folks and the People Who Love Them," to take place from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM on the second Wednesday of the month, beginning on March 11.
The sessions will be led by a trained facilitator from the Alzheimer's Association, with activities that will vary from month to month. In addition to sharing information about the challenges of dealing with memory loss that is associated with Alzheimer's disease, activities will include viewing short films, listening to music, games and discussion. These sessions are intended for people with Alzheimer's who must also be accompanied by a family member, friend, or other caregiver.
At the initial session on March 11, participants will have the opportunity to discuss the types of activities that they would like to see offered at future meetings. A brief animated film that simply explains what Alzheimer's Disease is will also be included.
