Zoom in on Goats with SFPL and the Philly Goat Project! The Springfield Free Public Library will host a live Zoom program featuring the goats of the Philly Goat Project (PGP).
Join us virtually on June 19th at 11:30 AM as we meet the goats (including Violet, a deaf goat that understands sign language), learn about goat personalities, and answer any questions you might have about these new furry friends!
The Philly Goat Project was created by Karen Krivit and Lily Sage in 2018 to provide opportunities for urban residents to connect to nature in dynamic and novel ways. PGP has seen over 700,000 people for their goat-centered activities. It is the city of Philadelphia's first city-based multi-service goat program providing grazing, animal-assisted therapy and wellness events, environmental and educational experiences and community engagement opportunities across many platforms.
For more information, please call Children's Librarian Brie Mintz at 973-376-4930 ext. 232. Even though this is a virtual event and program guests will be indoors, the goats and their caretakers will be outdoors and goats do not enjoy rain. Therefore, the rain date for this event will be held on July 17th, 2021 at 12:15 PM.
Registration is not required for this event. Join us at this Zoom link:
