Virtual Book Talk: Brooke’s Promise by Janice L. Berliner
Monday, November 29, 2021, 07:00pm

The Springfield Free Public Library is pleased to host a virtual book talk by Janice L. Berliner, author of the novel Brooke’s Promise, at 7:00 PM on Monday, November 29.

According to the author, this novel addresses the question of how someone can possibly put their life back together after learning that everything from her past has been a lie. This is the dilemma faced by Julia, a 45-year-old woman who has just learned that her beautiful baby granddaughter suffers from a devastating disease, the presence of which now threatens to unravel both Julia’s marriage and that of her son. With a medical diagnosis at its center, not only is Brooke’s Promise a story of family relationships and uncovered secrets, but also a story of changing expectations, forgiveness and reconciliation.

Janice Berliner holds a Master of Science in human genetics and genetic counseling and, after nearly thirty years of clinical experience as a genetic counselor, is now the an Assistant Professor and the Director of the Master of Science in Genetic Counseling Program at Bay Path University in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Her novel, In Good Conscience, was released this fall.
