Come get an early start on celebrating St. Patrick’s Day at the Springfield Free Public Library on Sunday 10th March 2024 at 2:00. The event will feature the Florian Schantz Jazz Combo playing a mixture of Irish and Irish-American music in various styles.
The Florian Schantz Jazz Combo was formed in 2012 by then nine-year-old Florian Schantz. Now 21 years old, Florian and his band have logged over 800 performances in the tri-state area and Europe, including more than 150 libraries. Also appearing in the band are Rup Chattopadhyay on trombone, Margaret Schantz on Flügelhorn, Cory Ackerman on drums and Lowell Schantz on guitar. This program is free and open to all members of the general public and preregistration is not required. The Springfield Free Public Library is located at 66 Mountain Avenue, but the main entrance to the library is located on Hanna Street, across from the municipal parking lot.
